Main purpose of the job:

To respond to the daily queries and policy issues that are submitted by Civic Voice members from across the country; to share common issues that help inform and support the planning and implementation of Civic Voice campaigns; to influence government and opposition on policy issues,; to connect different groups together who have similar issues and develop relationships with external stakeholders; and to help create a dynamic and fast-paced team environment and operate effectively as a team player.

Responsible to: Executive Director Location: Birmingham or Home Based

Budgetary responsibilities: None

Hours: A minimum of 7 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Utilise the "Wrike" membership system to respond to the varied issues that are submitted to Civic Voice by member groups
  • Respond conclusively to Civic Voice members with an answer/guidance and contacts in response to their local issue
  • Help ensure that Civic Voice’s campaigns strategy and activities are aligned to the department’s strategic objectives and Civic Voice’s organisational objectives
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to share the common issues coming forward
  • Work with the events team to ensure key issues are being responded to
  • Build relationships with regional and county stakeholders to ensure they have common knowledge of key issues coming forward
  • Where issues are of key issue, ensure local media and MP can be aware
  • Assist with parliamentary and other political activity to promote Civic Voice’s campaigns and policy aims as required
  • Produce strong, accurate briefing and promotional materials to further Civic Voice campaigns, for both internal and external consumption
  • Write articles and blogs for both internal and external use, and work with the media team to secure opportunities to highlight Civic Voice’s campaigns work
  • Support external Civic Voice websites, blogs and social media presence to raise awareness of Civic Voice’s campaigns and policy work
  • Work with the research and other teams to demonstrate the impact of Civic Voice’s campaigns work, and ensure that data is clearly represented and used to further Civic Voice’s messages
