Press Release: Picture Perfect Pontefract

Following the success of their 2017 calendar of locally taken photographs, Pontefract Civic Society has held this year’s competition for the Pontefract 2018 calendar, and the shots are stunning.

The civic society limited the number of entries per person and they received 39 photographs from 15 photographers, all the names were removed to ensure they were anonymously assessed by an independent judge, Steve Ininns, and the results are great.

Karl Gilbert, Secretary of Pontefract Civic Society coordinated the competition and he said, “Pontefract and the surrounding area is a beautiful place and we have some very talented photographers who take in pride in the town through their craft. We were really pleased
with the quality of entries, which made judging a hard job.”

Pontefract Civic Society would like to thank Farmer Copley and Knights of Pontefract for their generous donation of prizes. The calendar is on sale priced £7 from the civic society by calling 01977 708658 or via email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
