Civic Voice Supports Report Launch on Tackling Inequality in Housing Design Quality

Civic Voice is pleased to support the launch of the latest Place Alliance report, Tackling Inequality in Housing Design Quality, which highlights how high-quality housing can be delivered in disadvantaged areas.
The online event will take place on 11th February, from 1pm to 2pm, and is supported by Civic Voice, the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA), and the Urban Design Group. Civic Voice encourages all members and stakeholders to attend and engage in this important conversation about housing quality and equality in our communities.
Communities in disadvantaged areas often face substandard housing developments that fail to meet their needs. This new report, based on an in-depth assessment of 20 housing case studies across England, identifies ten best practice routes to success in creating high-quality housing where the market is weak, and socio-economic challenges persist.
Chair:Paul Reynolds – Urban Design Group
Presentation of the Report:Professor Matthew Carmona – UCL
Panel of Respondent include Joanna Averley – Chief Planner, MHCLG, Amy Burbridge from Homes England and Sowmya Parthasarathy – New Towns Taskforce.
The discussion will provide insights for local authorities, developers, community groups, and policymakers seeking to drive positive change in housing standards and ensure that all communities benefit from high-quality living environments.
