Huntingdon & Godmanchester Civic Society
Description
We are local residents who formed a non-profit making and a non political organisation to take a practical interest in our two towns in the 1970’s.
We encourage good design in new developments, the preservation of the historic buildings, the extension of conservation areas and the improving of our public open spaces.
Every month we look at all Planning Applications within the towns and send comments to the Town Councils, The District Council, County Council, the Highways Agency and other statuary bodies as, and when, necessary.
We provide a channel for local opinion into the heart of local Government.
“WE ARE ONLY TRUSTEES FOR THOSE THAT COME AFTER US”
William Morris, founder of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings 1877.
