Third Plaque is Unveiled!

Friday 23rd.August 2013 saw the unveiling of the third in the series of commemorative plaques that Windermere & Bowness Civic Society is installing in the villages.

This is mounted on the wall of the Old Station adjacent to the Porte Cochère to mark the significance of the railway in the very creation of the town now called Windermere.

Design, manufacture and installation were arranged by the Society and very generously sponsored by supermarket group, E.H.Booth & Co. Ltd.

The unveiling was carried out by company director Mr.Graham Booth and was attended by a crowd of society members, their invited guests and members of the public.
